EG Lesson #7
This weeks topic in Experiencing God was “The Crisis of Belief”.
Hebrews 11:6 states “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Here is the review from this lesson:
Day1 – Turning Point
- When God invites me to join Him in His work, He has a God-sized assignment for me.
- The way I live my life is a testimony of what I believe about God.
- When God tells me what He wants to do through me, I will face a crisis of belief.
The Crisis of Belief
- An encounter with God requires faith
- Encounters with God are God-sized.
- What you do in response to God’s revelation (invitation) reveals what you believe about God.
- True faith requires action.
Day 2 – Encounters with God require faith
- Mark 10:27 – “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’ “
- When God speaks, my response requires faith.
- Faith is confidence that what God has promised or said will come to pass.
- Sight is the opposite of faith.
- Faith must be in a Person.
- Before I call myself, my family, or my church to exercise faith, I must be sure I have heard a word from God.
- When God lets me know what He wants to do through me, it will be something only He can do.
- What I believe about God will determine what I do.
Day 3 – Encounters with God are God-Sized
- God is interested in the world’s coming to know Him.
- Our world is not seeing God because we are not attempting anything that only God can do.
- When God’s people and the world see something only God can do, they come to know God.
- Let people see the difference a living Christ makes in a life, a family, or a church; that will make a difference in how they respond to the gospel.
- Let the world watch God at work, and He will attract people to Himself.
- God is far more concerned with your walking with Him that He is interested in getting a job for Him.
Day 4 – What you do reveals what you believe
- What I do reveals what I believe about God, regardless of what I say.
- What I believe about God will determine what I do and how I live.
- Unbelief is extremely costly.
Day 5 – True faith require action
- Faith without action is DEAD!
- God has planned something far better for people of faith.
- Genuine faith is demonstrated by action.
- Don’t grow weary in being faithful. A reward awaits faithful servants.
